Last night I was stuck in my house seeing that the trains and buses weren’t running. Is Hurricane Irene really that serious? I looked out my window and all hell was breaking loose out there. I saw a gallon of milk out on the middle of the street. How’d that get there? I remembered that I recently purchased some Autumn gear exactly for this type of weather. Well might as well break them in now to see what they’ve got. Here was my check list.

I have to get a hat of some sort and I couldn’t find one that was built for the occasion. So I wore my new tiny beanie that I recently ordered off Asos. To say the least it wasn’t the best option. First and foremost, well it was tiny. They weren’t kidding about that and my ears were taking a beating to the wind. I wouldn’t say that the beanie was exactly built for this specific weather so I won’t hold anything against it. It did look cool though, I must give them that. $14.64 Asos

Then I went to see if I could protect my chest. I looked and looked and found the new Parka I recently purchased off Uniqlo. Wasn’t a bad jacket at all. Made completely out of nylon so it battled the rain and took the beating from the wind like a man. It looked amazing on me and dare I say it… kept me dry. A definite must buy, before they sell out I would suggest picking up one for yourself. $69.90 Uniqlo

I then concentrated on covering my legs. What to do? I do not own any wind breakers or early 90′s parachute pants. So I looked for the next best thing. Gap Skinny Jeans. Sure, at first, it didn’t seem logical. Jeans in the rain? How am I going to walk once they inevitably get soaked? Funny enough these bad boys were made to stay flexible even when your trousers are holding water. These things were phenomenal, the wetter they got the better it seemed. It kept my legs straight and gave me some sort of support that I didn’t know I needed from the wind. Awesome buy, awesome pant. $69.95 Gap

The L.L. Bean Boot can speak for itself. I had no other option but to wear the boot and if I did Iwouldn’t wear anything else. Phenomenal item, kept my feet ever so warm and I could be knee deep in a puddle of water and they simply just won’t give. Fully lined in a very high quality rubber, it was by far the best item in my wardrobe. $89.00 L.L.Bean

PS…                 I Survived Irene! Ha Ha! Take That!!
